Simon Cowell, the man determined to make Cher Lloyd a US megastar, has revealed himself as a surprise fan of US band The Lumineers.
Cowell is responsible for some of the most criticised music output ever - and is responsible for the careers of Olly Murs, One Direction, Matt Cardle, Alexandra Burke and many more X Factor graduates. These artists may not reflect his personal music taste however, as he has revealed his love for the Denver three-piece.
In a simple tweet, Cowell wrote: "I absolutely love ho hey by the lumineers."
The message stuck out like a sore Twitter thumb among chatter about X Factor and how much he also loves the movie, Arthur Christmas.
He also revealed that he has a favourite to win the UK show - and suggests that winners of the show do not necessarily have his support.
"On the uk show I do have a favourite but its your vote that determines the winner. Whoever wins will get the backing of Sony," he also tweeted.

The Lumineers recently spoke of their excitement for their US tour with The Dave Matthews Band this month.
"They're all huge arena shows so it's going to be crazy!" the band told Gigwise. "The biggest show we have ever played in Denver was to like 600 people, but these are going to be to like 16,000!"
Next February The Lumineers will return to the UK to embark on a seven-date tour. Full details are below. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
