Union J: We want to be better than One Direction

Union J are the latest contestants to leave The X Factor, but the boyband haven't given up just yet.

Speaking to The Mirror about One Direction, Jaymi said, "We don't want there to be any limits on how big we can be.

"We would love to be as big as they are right now and break America and tour the world. Louis thinks the sky is the limit.

"We will have such amazing lives if we do well and we will be able to live a life that people dream of."

And the band are already experiencing some of that X Factor magic - the boys were mobbed by fans when they went to Dublin to appear on The Late Show.

Band member George Shelley added, "They were like a swarm of bees."

Jaymi recently came out as gay while on The X Factor.

He said to The Sun, "I spoke to Louis about this and he said, ‘put it this way, both of my big boybands had a gay member in them.’ So he said it fits the formula quite well.

"Every boyband has got to have a gay one! And Louis just said ‘do it’."
