More about: Blondie
Blondie have announced they will play a series of shows hosted by Britain's forests next summer.
The new wave legends will be performing their best known songs as part of the Forestry Commission's annual concert series, Forest Live.
The Forest Live series is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commissions to bring big acts to new audiences. The shows are put on without commercial branding or sponsorship, with all the income generated by the shows being spent on improving local forsts for both the public and wildlife.
The audiences are still fully provided for, despite the rural settings, with full catering and bar facilities.
Blondie emerged from New York's New Wave music scene in the mid 70s and have since gone on to define themselves with a string of hits that are now recognised as classics.
Heart Of Glass, Call Me and The Tide Is High have all now come to define that era of music and mean Blondie continue to be a household name.
The group split in 1982 after the sixth studio album, The Hunter, and frontwoman Debbie Harry pursued a solo career.
But the group reformed in 1997 and found revived success, earning another UK number one single in the form of Maria.
Their released their ninth studio album, Panic Of Girls, in 2011.
