Lady Gaga has the backing of Mitch Winehouse, father of tragic Amy, to play his daughter in a potential movie of his daughter's life.
Gaga was previously said to have been 'desperate' to play Amy in a movie, which Mitch promises will happen in the future. He back the 'Born This Way' singer's ambition to play Amy and names the actor he expects to play him in the film.
"There will be a biopic," Mitch tells Heat magazine. "Lady Gaga is welcome to audition for the part of Amy – she would be great. Ray Winstone will probably end up playing me."
Mitch had previously spoken of his interest in Gaga playing the role in July 2012, telling The Daily Star: "I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect - it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now."

A Hollywood source spoke of Gaga's acting inspiration in 2011, telling The Daily Star that she had the right attitude and look to play Amy.
"Lady Gaga worshipped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen. She'd be spot on performing Amy's songs and has got the right look and bolshy attitude."
