Noel Gallagher has labelled current pop acts as dull, saying that they're manufactured and scared to be themselves.
The High Flying Birds frontman compares modern pop bands to Oasis, saying that they weren't afraid to answer silly questions and be honest in interviews.
He told the Daily Star, "Back in the 90s the Top 20 was mostly bands and now it's all manufactured pop. They have got their careers to think about.
"So you don't get anybody swearing or even admitting to smoking."
He continued, "If you are being yourselves nobody can touch you. We never brushed anything under the carpet, so to speak.
"If I was asked a silly question I used to give a silly answer."
One Direction - not about to become the next Oasis, it seems.
Noel also recently brushed off rumours of an Oasis reunion, saying that both him and Liam would have to be 'very skint' in order for that to happen.
Speaking to Alan Carr, on Channel 4's Chatty Man, he said, "What would it take [for Oasis to reunite]?
"It would take Liam or myself to be very skint, and I know for a fact that ain't gonna happen. So other than that, I can’t see it."
