Bruno Mars said that the lyrics of his new single 'Locked Out Of Heaven' are about actress Halle Berry.

The 'Grenade' singer was speaking to Capital FM when he joked that some of the lyrics of 'Locked Out Of Heaven' are inspired by the actress.

The new single is taken from upcoming album Unorthodox Jukebox, and will be the first single to be released from the record.

When speaking to Capital FM, Mars was asked what inspired him to write the lyric 'your sex takes me to paradise'.

Mars replied, "I might as well just say it – Halle Berry."

Bruno Mars also recently spoke to News.com.au about the new album Unorthodox Jukebox, saying that he's excited about it and that he feels he's had a lot more freedom while making this album.

Halle Berry - apparently her sex takes Bruno Mars to paradise...

He said the record is about 'freedom and music', and 'letting people know it's OK to be different.'

He added, " It's like what we talked about before, when record labels said I was too unorthodox and all over the place. I want to say: 'I am what I am, this is me, take it or leave it.'

"I'm hoping we can change radio a little bit with this album. I want to make the record labels feel pushed to do something new."
