If there was one artist who summed up all that is good in electronic music in 2012, it's St Lucia. The Brooklyn based producer stunned us with his debut EP earlier in the year, and new single 'September' is a quite spectacular piece of work.
An offbeat electro track, 'September' takes nearly a minute and a half before the vocal kicks in, instead letting the pounding synths do the talking, treating Jean-Philip Groble's vocals as simply another layer on this soaring slice of pop genius. He comes onto the track just before a guitar lick that Daft Punk would be proud of drops onto the track.
'September' sounds nothing like any modern pop music in 2012 and everything how we'd like to hear modern pop music sound in 2013.
The video is a surreal experience, featuring glowing eggs, rave-crazed females and some seriously weird imagery. Take a look below.
