Muse announced via Twitter this morning that they will be headlining one of the biggest festivals in the world in Rio de Janeiro on September 14, 2013.
The rock trio are already set for a huge 2013 having announced dates in Japan as well as their biggest ever European tour which includes a stadium tour of the UK in May.
Muse will be joined by a plethora of rock talent for the Brazil festival. Other acts that have been confirmed for Rock in Rio 2013 include Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and Iron maiden.
Earlier in 2012, Muse promised that the tour would be their best ever and have taken influence from Pink Floyd for their shows.
Lead singer, Matt Bellamy told a US radio station in October: "I think it’s going to be our best tour so far. It’s like our version of The Wall. We’ve built this upside down pyramid structure which is full of video screens. Throughout the gig, it gradually comes down and consumes the band. So we end up eaten up by this pyramid thing, which is all very symbolic, of course. We blast out of it and escape.
"It’s going to be a big experience. This is our Stonehenge tour!"
Matt Bellamy has said the Muse 2013 tour will be the biggest and best yet
Muse will be showcasing their latest album, The 2nd Law, which has topped the charts in more than 20 countries since its release in October.
Muse tweeted: "We're pleased to announce that Muse will be headlining the fantastic Rock in Rio, Brazil on the 14th September 2013."
