Cheryl Cole is reportedly suing the producers of US X Factor after she was sacked from the show before broadcast in 2011.
The singer was flown to join the American version of the show by show boss and friend Simon Cowell, but was sacked before the show was aired after concerns that US audiences would struggle to understand her accent. She was replaced by Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger - who is now sat on the UK X Factor judging panel.
Cole is now said to be seeking £1.4million in lost earnings from bosses of the show - which presumably include Cowell himself.
The Sun newspaper reports that Cole signed a contract for two series of the show, and despite not even featuring in one, is demanding a huge payment from the show. She is said to have been paid £1.1million for attending auditions in just two US cities before she was dumped.
Her X Factor USA contract was said to have been worth $1.8million for the first series (which she received) and $2million for the second (which she did not). She is suing for the promised earnings of the second series of the show.

Cheryl has been widely tipped to return to the UK X Factor panel in 2013 after ratings plunged in 2012.
Her time is currently packed with Girls Aloud commitments however, having reunited with her girl group bandmates for a reunion tour in 2013.
Girls Aloud recently premiered the video for their new single, 'Beautiful Cause You Love Me'. Watch it below.
