This is it then - the last weekend of X Factor 2012. Christopher Maloney is set to go head to head with rivals Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur on this weekend's live finals, but will reportedly do so without having had a full rehearsal of his performance.

The Liverpool singer is said to be struggling with his vocals, and is so terrified of losing his voice that he has been unable to rehearse fully for this weekend's shows. The Mirror newspaper reports that he only performed a few notes of his chosen songs during rehearsals - and wore a sign reading 'On voice rest' during rehearsals.

"Chris is putting on a brave face but it is unheard of not to sing a full version of a performance ahead of the final," reports the tabloid.

"But Chris is now paranoid his voice will go and won't risk it."

He is set to perform with Gary Barlow, the pair singing a version of Barlow's Take That hit, 'Rule The World'. There had previously been rumours that the choice to perform with mentors on this year's show was due to the fact that big names stars were unwilling to perform with Maloney on the show.

Nicole Scherzinger will have a busy weekend - as she is set to perform with both her remaining acts in the show, Jahmene and James. She is set to sing 'The Greatest Love Of All' with Jahmene and Bob Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love' (as covered by Adele) with James.

Each finalist has already recorded their potential winner's single, but the chosen tracks covered have been kept a tight secret. Eliminated finalists on the show will return to perform on stage on the weekend's live broadcast.
