Christopher Maloney pulled out of tonight's live final after reports he was abusive to staff on the show and fellow finalist, Carolynne Poole.
The singer was due to perform a line in a group song on tonight's show but has instead decided he will have no part in the live final. He was eliminated from the show on the Saturday night (8 November, 2012) show.
Maloney is said to have had a heavy night drinking with friends after the Saturday night show and is said to have returned to his hotel at 4am this morning. During rehearsals of the group performance today (9 November, 2012) he was 'abusive' to show staff and Poole, reports The Mirror.
"He was still drunk after being up all night boozing and was abusive to the production team and other contestants," says a source to the newspaper. "He said he was leaving and didn’t want to perform in the Final tonight."
An X Factor spokesperson confirmed his departure. "Chris decided he no longer wanted to be part of The X Factor Final and has gone back to Liverpool," said a spokesperson for the show.

Maloney has been dogged by a series of bad publicity stories during his X Factor time, and last week was said to be wearing an 'on voice rest' sign around his neck.
