British singer Ed Sheeran has asked this year's The X Factor winner, James Arthur to get in the studio with him.

The viewing public voted for singer-songwriter, James Arthur to take home The X Factor crown as well as a lucrative recording contract as he pipped runner-up Jahmene Douglas to the top spot on Sunday night.

The 'A-Team' singer told Arthur: "Well done. Let's get into the studio together as soon as the show's done."

Sheeran is said to see a lot of similarities between himself and The X Factor winner.

A source told The Sun: "Ed sees some of himself in James. He likes his style and is convinced a collaboration would be a big hit."

Who doesn't want to work with James Arthur?

It looks as though Arthur is going to have collaborators queing up to work with him as his mentor, Nicole Sherzinger, has also said she wants to work with the 24-year-old.

She said: "He wanted this, he willed this to happen. He deserves this so much."

Arthur's debut single, a cover of Shontelle's 'Impossible' is now available and looks set to reach the top of the UK charts.
