Blink-182 have unveiled a new Christmas song titled 'Boxing Day', and it's likely to be the 'folky' song that Travis Barker mentioned earlier in the year.

The song is definitely a lot less light-hearted than previous Blink-182 holiday songs, 'I Won't Be Home For Christmas' and 'Happy Holidays You B**tard'.

Lyrics from 'Boxing Day' include, "I'm empty like the day after Christmas, swept beneath with the wave of your goodbye. You left me on the day after Christmas, there's nothing left to say and so goodnight."

The song is taken from Blink-182's upcoming record, the Dogs Eating Dogs EP, which is due to be released on 18 December.

Speaking about the EP, Tom Delonge told Billboard, "We're connected and laughing and making jokes and making fun of each other, and really having strong debates whether or not we should have a whole chorus about penises.

"I mean that's what Blink was always good at: taking a great song and making it into a dick joke... But we never did that on Neighborhoods. There was no laughing on Neighborhoods. There were no dick jokes."

He went on to say that the new EP is a "more organic mixture" of the three members' different tastes and opinions.

Delonge said that there's even a track with hip-hop elements, due to drummer Travis Barker's influence, which is something that the band haven't explored before.

He finished by saying the EP sounds like "a very progressive punk-rock band." Delonge said, "It's prog-rock and punk all coming together and it's very modern and relevant."
