Morrissey has blamed the royal family for the nurse's death, saying that Kate Middleton should take more responsibility.

The outspoken singer has never made a secret of his hatred for the royals, and has previously called Prince Harry 'an absolute idiot', Pippa Middleton 'horrendous' and Kate 'shockingly cruel'.

Now Morrissey is blaming the royal family for the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who is thought to have committed suicide after she gave out details of Kate's condition to two Australian DJs during a prank call.

Speaking to New Zealand's 3News, Morrissey said, "It wasn't because of two DJs in Australia that this woman took her own life, it was the pressure around her."

While he admitted that much of the pressure is due to the attention from the media, he added that some of it was down to the "maximum pressure [of] ... the Palace and Clarence House."

Speaking about the Duchess of Cambridge, he said, "[She] was in the hospital, as far as I could see, for absolutely no reason. She feels no shame about the death of this woman, she's saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering."

He went on to suggest that maybe Kate had no reason to be in hospital, implying a conspiracy. Morrissey continued, "Does she have a health condition? Is it anorexia or is it pregnancy? ... I mean morning sickness already? So much hoo haw and then suddenly as bright as a button as soon as this poor woman dies she's out of hospital? It doesn't ring true."

Morrissey continued that the royals should be used to prank calls, as Buckingham Palace probably receives 'thousands' of them daily. He said that he thinks the Australian DJs are being used as a method of 'distracting people'.

He finished by saying, "The fact they got so far probably astonished them beyond belief.

"But the pressure put on the woman who connected the callers was probably so enormous that she took her own life ... And we forget about that and of course the royals are exonerated as always."
