Paul McCartney performed a new track at last night's Hurricane Sandy track alongside surviving members of Nirvana, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. Watch a video of the performance below.
Also joined by Pat Smear, the supergroup performed a track called 'Cut Me Some Slack' at the televised fundraiser, which is the result of jam sessions between McCartney and the band members. The track has been recorded for Dave Grohl's upcoming movie, 'Sound City Movie'.
"So recently some guys asked me to go and jam with them," said McCartney as he introduced his new bandmates. "So I showed up like you do, ready to jam and in the middle of it there guys kept saying 'We haven't played together for years, you know?'"
"So the penny finally dropped and I realised I was in the middle of a Nirvana reunion!"
Dressed in faded blue jeans and a white shirt, McCartney led an impressive performance of the track, with Dave Grohl rocking out on drums behind the guitar duelling between McCartney and Novoselic.

Fan reaction to the performance has so far been positive, with fans labelling it 'badass'.
"Badass performance," says YouTube user Krehyv. "Im not even impressed by Sir Paul McCartney's performance, because I knew he would rock this sh*t ! He has always been a top mucisian, and he will continue to be so for many years to come."
Others celebrated hearing old fashioned rock and roll, with TokyoBoyWonder saying: "How awesome is it to hear some good raw rock n roll as opposed to all the beats stuff out there; this song fucking rocks."
