Adele is known for being a pretty amazing singer, but knocking out a brilliant Bond theme in ten minutes? Yeah, she can do that too.
The UK superstar recorded her international smash hit after just a few minutes in the studio, claims producer Paul Epworth. The track has recently been nominated for a Golden Globe award and is also tipped for an Oscar nomination in 2013.
"Within 10 minutes, she put down most of the vocals," Epworth tells Hollywood.com. "She had the lyrics in her head when she drove over. It was the most absurd thing. She's fast, but it was quite phenomenal."
He also praises the singer for her classic sound and 'old soul'.
"She never really mentioned she could sing the (Shirley) Bassey-esque slurs that she does in the opening," added Epworth.
"She has an old soul."
"She's actually a very controlled vocalist. She has a lot of finesse and skill. She's not just a powerhouse — it's a lot of careful technique. That's why she's an amazing vocalist. It's all control."'
Adele's mantlepiece is feeling the strain of her hefty awards collection already
'Skyfall' has been placed on the Oscars longlist for Best Original Song at the 2013 movie event.
The Black Keys are also on there with their song 'Baddest Man Alive', which featured on 'The Man With The Iron Fists' soundtrack, as well as Mumford & Sons' 'Learn Me Right' from Brave.
Also amongst the shortlist nominations is Arcade Fire's 'Abraham's Daughter' from The Hunger Games, Fiona Apple's 'Dull Tool' from This Is 40 and Karen O's 'Strange Love' from Frankenweenie.
Katy Perry's 'Wide Awake' also gets a nod, from her own film Part of Me, as does Norah Jones' 'Everybody Needs a Best Friend' from Ted and Liz Phair's 'Dotted Line' from People Like Us.
There are also four tracks from Quentin Tarantino's upcoming movie Django Unchained, including Rick Ross' contribution '100 Black Coffins'.
