Tom Odell is the first ever male to win the BRIT Awards Critics Choice, beating London r&b duo AlunaGeorge and Laura Mvula in order to do so.
Odell is 'honoured' to win, and is following in the footsteps of previous winners Adele, Jessie J and Emeli Sande.
According to the BBC, Odell said, "I'm thrilled and honoured to win the Brits critics' choice award. I genuinely can't believe it."
"Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the award already, I just hope I don't let the boys down."
Odell already has celebrity fans, such as Lily Allen, who signed him to her record label earlier this year. She told NME, "His voice is fragile yet powerful and he sings mainly love songs.
"I'm not usually a massive fan of singer-songwriter stuff, but when I saw him live, his energy onstage reminded me of David Bowie. It's not soppy and moany at all, it's energetic and insightful. And he's totally gorgeous as well!"

Odell has been writing songs since he was 13, and is now 22. Speaking of being signed, he told The Sun, "We did a show at the Queen Of Hoxton in east London.
"There were about ten people in the room, but one of them was a friend of a friend of Lily Allen's. My demo got passed to her and she came down for the next show - it was crazy.
"Then she was like, 'Come and meet the A&R guys at Columbia'. I got signed and I was like, 'I just want to go away and write this record now'. I did that and then we recorded over the summer."
