Queens Of The Stone Age have dropped the biggest hint yet as to when their forthcoming album will be released.

The band have been in the studio for the best part of 2012 recording with Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl on drums, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor and frontman Josh Homme.

The rock collective have been dropping a few hints recently with the latest being a picture of Earth being struck by lightening with 'March 2013' at the bottom of the image.

In another message, the band told Mojo a bit more about what to expect from the album. They wrote: "In our grand plan, we envisioned our lives and recordings running like clockwork. However, the reality has been manic and unpredictable."

The group's message continued: "The record sounds like running in a dream inside a codeine cabaret."
