Former Pussycat Doll and I'm A Celebrity... runner up Ashley Roberts has joined the judging line-up for the new series of Dancing On Ice.
The US singer and dancer found popularity in the UK in 2012 when she placed second on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. Now, despite having released solo music earlier this year, Roberts will take on her second reality TV role on the upcoming ITV series.
I’m beyond excited to be joining Dancing on Ice as a judge," says Roberts.
"To work alongside Torvill and Dean is an honour – they’re legends. We’ve got some fantastic names lined up to skate this year and I can’t wait to see their routines on the ice."
Roberts becomes the third Pussycat Doll to appear on UK TV talent shows, with Nicole Scherzinger having judged the 2012 series of X Factor and Kimberly Wyatt on Sky One's Got To Dance.
Roberts will join Robin Cousins, Jason Gardiner and Karen Barber on the skating show, which boasts stars such as Pamela Anderson and Joe Pasquale as contestants strapping on the skates.
Roberts' new reality TV role will be easier to swallow than her previous job
Roberts reportedly had her sights set on a UK reality TV judging role since before her I'm A Celebrity stint, with a friend revealing her judging ambitions after she starred on the jungle show.
"Ashley would love to move to the UK and make a career there, and I think that’ll be her next move," said her friend Bobby Newberry, reported The Mirror in early December, 2012. "She’s on a path ...she would love to do television presenting. She just missed out on a job at the X Factor USA, hosting the show and I know she was very keen to do that. If she got the opportunity to work on the UK show, she would do that in a heartbeat."
Roberts premiered her first solo music material in 2012. Watch the video for her 'Yesterday' single below.
