Jahmene Douglas has said that he still considers James Arthur to be one of his closest friends, despite losing The X Factor competition to him.
Jahmene told What's On TV that he can't see James until next year, due to their busy schedules, but that they're still friends and in touch.
He said, "I know that his schedule is going to be absolutely crazy. So I'll just give him some space and harass him in the New Year!"
Jahmene went on to talk about his own album, saying that he doesn't want to be tied down to a single genre and is happy to explore more than one.
The singer continued, "I think my album would be so mixed. Think of Whitney Houston's My Love Is Your Love album - that kind of mix between ballads, gospel and R'n'B, a bit of jazz."
He added, "I'm just trying to get back that music from the olden days, because I'm missing it."
James Arthur can look forward to a catch up with Jahmene in 2013
Jahmene finished by saying that he would like to release the winner's single that he recorded for The X Factor, despite not winning the reality show.
Speaking about his version of The Beatles' 'Let It Be', he said, "It would be a shame to let it go to waste."
