Despite losing out on the Christmas number one, James Arthur is now top of the charts with 'Impossible' gaining the number one spot.

While The Justice Collective's charity Hillsborough single 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' managed to get the Christmas top spot, James' winning single 'Impossible' has now reclaimed the number one.

'Impossible' is currently top of the Official UK Singles Chart and has sold 897,000 copies which, according to the Official Charts Company, makes it the fourth best-selling debut from an X Factor winner.

James tweeted, "I'm number 1 again? Sweet!! Thanks must go to you sick individuals that bought it! And I mean sick in a good way! #LOVE #Whatayear! Xxx"

The Justice Collective single has fallen to number five, with Olly Murs at number four with 'Troublemaker'. Number three is Psy's 'Gangnam Style' and number two is the Britney and Will.i.am collaboration, 'Scream & Shout'.

The Official UK Albums Chart sees Emeli Sande at number one with her album Our Version Of Events.

The album is the biggest-selling album of the year, according to the Official Charts Company, and has sold more than 1.2 million copies.

Emeli Sande currently holds the number one album spot

Olly Murs is at number two with his album Right Place, Right Time and Rihanna's Unapologetic takes the number three spot.

The top five is rounded out by Michael Buble's Christmas at number four and Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox at number five.
