Justin Bieber has called for a change in US laws to protect celebrities and their fans, after a man was killed in Los Angeles trying to take a photo of the star's car.
A 29-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle after attempting to take a photo of Bieber's Ferrari - which was being driven by a friend of the singer at the time.
Bieber, who has long complained of being harrassed by paparazzi, has now issued a statement about the incident, calling for a change in US law concerning paparazzi.
"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim," says Bieber in a statement, reports The Daily Mail.
"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."

The 29-year-old photographer - who was not a professional - arrived at the scene and got out of his car to take photos, crossing the boulevard to do so.
On his way back to his car, he was hit by a car and taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre, where he later died, according to Los Angeles police Officer James Stoughton.
Stoughton also said that no charges are likely to be filed against the motorist who hit the photographer.
