Eurosonic Noorderslag is Europe's main showcase festival for European music and takes place from 9 January - the first of 2013.
Taking place in Groningen in The Netherlands over 4 days the festival aims to present the best of new European artists, and takes place in the city across 40 different venues.
The festival will feature over 300 acts, including a notable cast from the BBC Sound of 2013 poll; AlunaGeorge, Palma Violets, Chvrches, as well as bands such as Bastille and Temples. Previousy Eurosonic Noorderslag has showcased acts such as The XX, Emeli Sande and Franz Ferdinand.

The festival brands itself as 'the key exchange and networking platform for European music, European artists, international music and interactive industry professionals and organisations'. It aims to showcase new music throughout Europe, which otherwise would struggle to make itself heard beyond the border of its own country.
By day a conference program will take place, with music industry professionals taking to the stage, as well as featured acoustic performances and a talk show set up. The European Border Breaker Awards will be televised and will take place on 9 January. Hosted by Jools Holland it awards European artists who have achieved success beyond their own countries. By night European artists will perform to a mixed audience of fans and music professionals.
