Legendary disco star Nile Rogers has confirmed that the track he has worked on with Daft Punk will be released in 2013 - possibly before April of this year.

Recent months have seen a number of Daft Punk rumours emerge - including potential festival appearances at Coachella festival in the US and Primavera festival in Barcelona.

Now however, Rogers has given more concrete confirmation of the French duo's plans in a post on his personal blog.

In a post titled '2013 won't be boring', Rogers writes of plans to visit Japan in the coming year, writing: "The next time I set foot in Japan, my collaboration with Daft Punk would have started to hit people's eardrums, as well as a number of songs I'm working on over the next few months with a select group of artists."

He also hints at his Japan visit possibly taking place in April, saying: "Although April in Japan is bittersweet, the people dependably reinforce the sweet. I'm always assured of an audience that loves to celebrate, party, and have a genuine good time with me."

He also posted a number of photoshopped images showing him with the duo, dressed in their trademark robot costumes.

A recently leaked line-up for Primavera festival named Daft Punk among the bands and artists rumoured to be performing - alongside the likes of Frank Ocean and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Previously, an email was sent to subscribers of gig listings website Songkick, naming both Daft Punk and The Rolling Stones as performers at Coachella festival.

However, all live performances from the 'One More Time' stars in 2013 seem unlikely, with Bestival boss Rob Da Bank recently claiming he was told months ago that Daft Punk would not be touring in 2013.
