Justin Bieber has promised fans he is 'growing and learning' and 'trying to be better' after a webiste published photos of him holding a suspicious looking cigarette, thought to be a joint.
The photos were taken on 2 January during a party at a Newport Beach hotel, which took place the day after amateur photographer Chris Guerra was killed trying to photograph Bieber's car.
Lil Twist - Bieber's friend, who was apparently driving his car at the time - was also at the party, according to TMZ.
The website went on to claim that Bieber was "clutching a smouldering blunt" and that a girl who wasn't Selena - Bieber's girlfriend - had slept over in the room.
Bieber recently took to Twitter in order to post a series of tweets which alluded to the pot smoking controversy.
The 'Beauty and a Beat' singer wrote, "everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up.
"back on tour tomorrow. ready to see u all smile. time to do what im supposed to be doing. performing. #BELIEVEtour"

Bieber hasn't had the best 2013 so far - he has also apparently split with girlfriend Selena Gomez, after their on-off relationship.
