Nicki Minaj has said that her fellow American idol judge Mariah Carey is one of her favourite artists of all time, despite the pair's vicious bust up just a few months ago.
Last October saw a violent arguement between the two judges explode and get caught on film. Following the argument Mariah claimed that Minaj had threatened to shoot her and that she felt unsafe as a result.
But Minaj claims that the two have now buried the hatchet and are ready to work together on the panel.
The Pink Friday singer told USMagazine.com: "I say nice things about Mariah all the time. She's one of my favourite artists of all time. She's really shaped a generation of singers. To be on a panel with her, it's kind of crazy."
Minaj went on to quip that she and Mariah managed to get past their argument by watching her sex tape together.
After hearing what Minaj had said, Mariah offered compliments of her own.
"That was obviously a very sweet thing to say, Nicki and I worked together very early on in her career and did a song - it's called 'Up Out My Face', ironically. I did know, and feel, she was going to go very far."
But earlier this week Mariah confirmed that she had hired extra security following the bust up.
"It felt like an unsafe work environment. Anytime anybody's reeling threats at somebody, you know, it's not appropriate," she said.
"I'm a professional. I'm not used to that type of environment," she added, saying that hiring bodyguards felt "the appropriate thing to do."
"Sitting there on the road with two babies, I'm not going to take any chances."
The fight, which took place during auditions in Charlotte, Noth carolina, was apparently over a contestant's performance.

Minaj was heard to say "Think it's a joke? Say one more disrespectful thing thing to me, if you say one more disrespectful thing to me - off with your head!"
The argument continued with Minaj accusing Carey of trying to make her feel inadequate, while Carey asked "why, why do I have a 3-year-old sitting arround me?"
Minaj also apparently threatened to knock Carey out, according to sources, but that was not caught on film.
But the two have apparently put it behind them and are happy to continue working together.
Carey even suggested that the fight might help boost rating for the show.
"For all the drama, I hope it helps the show," she said.
