Dave Grohl has revealed the all-star line-up for his supergroup, Sound City Players.
The band are set to debut at the Sundance Festival where Grohl will be premiering his documentary film, Sound City - which features many of the bands from the group.
Sound City Players will include Dave Grohl himself, as well as Stevie Nicks, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear from Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine's drummer Brad Wilk, Chris Goss, Alain Johannes, Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel and Chris Shiflett.
Also joining the team are Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, among others. Sadly, although Paul McCartney is involved in the Sound City documentary, he is not going to be part of the Sound City Players.
The band will perform on January 18 at Sundance Festival, along with Sound City - which is Grohl's documentary about Californian recording studio, Sound City. Grohl recorded Nirvana's Nevermind album at the studios, and has been fascinated with them ever since.
Speaking about the film in a statement, Grohl said, "As a first-time director, I am humbled to be able to share my passion for songwriting and storytelling with this incredible cast of legendary musicians, as seen through the extraordinary story of America's greatest unsung recording studio, Sound City."
Stevie Nicks is all set to perform at Sundance with the supergroup
"Being included in this group of artists is a true honor, and the Sundance Film Festival is the perfect place to premiere a film about craft, integrity and passion for art. I am over the moon!"
Grohl will also be delivering the keynote speech at SXSW festival this year in March, as well as drumming on the upcoming Queens of the Stone Age album.
