Justin Timberlake is set to premiere new music on Monday, 14 January 2013, after making an announcement online.

After teasing possible new music earlier today, Timberlake has since posted a video online, announcing his return to music.

"Someone asked me the other day, 'are you just done with music'. It means more to me than anyone in the world," he says in a narrative to the video as he discusses his place in music.

"I've only done two albums in the last ten years. What does the next decade hold for me?"

He adds: "I don't know if I could physically torture myself that much and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now.

"I don't want to put anything out that I feel like I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it."

The video ends with Timberlake stood in studio, before saying to an unseen producer: "I'm ready."

A three-day countdown has also launched. Check out the video and countdown at http://countdown.justintimberlake.com/.

Timberlake scored huge success with his debut album, Justified

Timberlake's new track has been rumoured to be a collaboration with Jay-Z and Timbaland, and even Beyonce has been rumoured for an involvement in JT's new music.

Justin posted on Twitter this morning hinting at either the release of the single, or an official announcement about it. He tweeted, "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..."
