Australian dance stars Pnau have revealed that they would love to work with David Bowie after finding success with Elton John's remix project.
The duo hit No.1 in the UK album charts in 2012 with their Good Morning To The Night collection, which took extracts from vintage Elton John tracks and created brand new songs.
"In terms of other artists I would love to do it with other artists, like Bowie. Without making it sound like a greatest hits remix record, it would have to be with someone who had made a lot of music," producer Peter Mayes tells Gigwise. "That also made it harder with Elton because he had so many songs, but we had a lot to draw from and a lot to absorb."
Mayes also revealed plans for a second Elton John remix collaboration, adding: "We're actually doing another record with Elton. In fact, we're doing a couple of them but with a different era."
Bowie is back - but will he let Pnau work on a remix collection of his tracks?
The duo, Mayes and singer and co-producer Nick Littlemore, are set for a comeback as their hugely successful alter-egos Empire Of The Sun later this year, with Mayes also discussing plans for their second record.
"We've been working on the new Empire Of The Sun record since last November and I am so excited about that right now," he told us. "We're getting towards the end of that now. It is sounding amazing. It's really big."
