Never mind her speculative collaboration with Lady Gaga and Azealia Banks, Beyonce has now confirmed that she has been in the studio with Justin Timberlake.

Beyonce spent much of 2012 working on her new album, and is set to perform at this year's Super Bowl half-time show.

Speaking with GQ, the singer revealed that she has been working on the new album with Timberlake, as well as elite producers Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and The-Dream.

"We all started in the '90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us," she told the magazine.

The 31-year-old is now thought to be aiming to have new material released before she appears at the Super Bowl in February.

"She's got her stuff going," The-Dream said. "She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan... I'm sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here."

This week has also seen the news that Beyonce will be reuniting with her former Destiny's Child bandmates.

The group will be releasing a collection of their most romantic songs, titled Love Songs, which will include a new track from the trio recorded with Pharrell Williams.

Justin Timberlake, for his part, kept everyone on tenterhooks yesterday (January 10) with the promise of a special announcement.

When it came it wasn't a new track as everyone had hoped, but was the promise that Monday will see new music from the singer, indicating that 2013 will see the 'Cry Me A River' singer returning to music after a foray into the film business.

The next 12 months are shaping up to be a great year for Beyonce.

Not only is she set to release a solo album, and a Destiny's Child compilation complete with new track, and preparing for a performance at the Super Bowl, but the singer is also lined up to sing the National Anthem at Barack Obama's inauguration.
