Despite producer Tony Visconti previously saying that David Bowie won't tour to promote his new album, he has admitted that the star might perform a one off show.
After some confusion about his earlier statement, Visconti wrote on Twitter, "I never said Bowie would never perform live again. Pitchfork made that up. He won't tour for this album - that's all I said."
Visconti has now told the Daily Telegraph that, while he still doesn't think that Bowie will tour for The Next Day, he might perform one concert.
He said, "He doesn't want to tour any more. He's had enough of it. But he hasn't ruled out that he might do a show. It was a relief to me to hear that he was open to that."
Visconti went on to describe the new album as a grower, saying that it could take repeated listens in order to properly enjoy it, and hinting at a jazz influence.
"This is a serious record," he said. "Half of it you will need to listen to a couple of times. here are some very strange songs, a new direction. He's tapping into his jazz roots."

He also suggested that there could be another new album out relatively soon, as Bowie has at least four finished songs that could be used on the next record.
Visconti added, "If all goes well, we will be back in the studio by the end of the year. He's back. Bowie has found out what he wants to do: he wants to make records. Nothing else."
