Justin Timberlake's new single is on track to to charts and break records.
'Suit & Tie', which was unveiled yesterday, is currently number one on the iTunes charts in both the UK and the US.
As such it's likely that the single will be at the top of the Offical Chart in the UK on Sunday, and will make an impressive start on the Billboard Hot 100. The track is also set to smash records, with Billboard reporting it's on course to have the biggest sales week ever for a download.
It is estimated to sell well over 400,000 copies in seven days.
The track will have to beat the current leader, which is Taylor Swift's 'I Knew You Were Trouble'. Swift's record sold 416,000 units in October 2012.
When Timberlake released 'SexyBack' in September 2006 it managed to shift just 250,000 downloads, but the market for digital singles downloads has grown substaintially since then.
After releasing the track yesterday Timberlake proved to be the 'true king of the Justins', with online searches for JT live tickets showing that if he were to announce a tour demand for his shows would outweigh Beiber by four to one according to website Viagogo.
Timberlake's return to music was much anticipated after the star posted an abiguous Twitter message on 9 January, writing : "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..."
That was followed by a YouTube teaser video of the singer walking through a studio to a voice over of himself discussing his feelings about returning to music before putting on some headphone and saying "I'm ready" to an unseen producer.
When the Timbaland and Jay-Z featuring track arrived yesterday the internet went wild for it, although many have expressed a feeling of disappointment that 'Suit & Tie' wasn't up to the benchmark set by 'SexyBack'.
Fans are, without a doubt, desperate to see JT live on stage again
Justin Timberlake's is just one of the comebacks we've seen already announced so far in 2013. Suede are set to return with a new album, and David Bowie's secret new single and album have been revealed to everyone's surprise.
Destiny's Child are also set to reunite onstage at the Super Bowl following the release of their new single 'Nuclear' taken from their new compilation of romantic tracks, Love Songs.
Beyonce is also set to release a new solo album, and it has been reported that Timbaland and Pharrell Williams are involved, and that Timberlake himself will be making an appearance.
