Dappy has today been found guilty of assault and affray, following an incident in a petrol station in 2012.

Dappy faced charges of affray from an incident which took place in February last year, and left three men with what have been described as 'severe facial injuries'.

He also faced charges of assault after he spat at two 18-year-old girls, Grace Elizabeth Cochran and Serena Burton, and beat 23-year-old David Jenkins.

Dappy apparently spat at the girls after they refused to get in a car with him, which led to a brawl when the three men stepped in to defend the girls.

However, Dappy claimed in court that he was actually the victim, and did not spit at the girls. He told the court that when one man put him in a headlock, he could not breathe, explaining, "They had it in for me. I feared for my life. This is the worst thing in my life that ever happened."

Dappy denied the allegations, but claimed he was drunk at the time.

Dappy said that he had been out celebrating the release of his new single with Brian May and had told the girls to buy it, denying that he had called them 'sluts' or 'ugly'.

Dappy told police, "They probably realised it was me and wanted to mess me up because I'm famous."

However, prosecutor Brian Stork previously told the court, "It was a mob attack on a group of individuals who were quite frankly unable to defend themselves against the numbers and ferocity of the attack. They were on the wrong end of a beating."
