Biffy Clyro have hit back at criticisms that they've changed too much, saying that they're not going to make the same kind of music they did when they were younger.
In an interview with The Sun, frontman Simon Neil said, "We pride ourselves on being a real band that goes out and plays. There is no trickery. We try to connect with people and people realise we are sincere.
"It's partly why we play with our shirts off, to expose ourselves. 'This is who we are, this is what we do'. We might be too sincere for some, but f**k it, that's what we want to do. We're not a joke band, though we do have humour in our songs. But it's important to us that people know we're for real."
Bassist James Johnston added, "We were the very definition of a cult band for so long and then we got big. But nothing changed."
Simon continued, "We can't make the same records we did when we were 21, as our lives have changed and it wouldn't work. All we can do is trust what we want to make.
"We know what drives us and what makes us want to keep doing it. It is the evolution in trying new things.
"But we still write great songs and we're still the same band. Live by the sword, die by the sword, that's what I say. 'Mon the Biff!"

They also spoke about the new double album Opposites, and told The Sun that both a mariachi band and a kazoo feature on the record.
James finished, "Kazoos just shouldn't work. But that's the weird thing about music - there aren't any rules.
"You've just got to explore to find out what does and what doesn't work."
