The Icelanders will perform in the shadow of the iconic Lovell Telescope on Friday, 30 August 2013 from the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire.
Sigur Ros enjoyed a fantastic 2012 with a number of festival performances that edged them towards the mainstream map and look to continue that form in 2013.
Elbow have sold out the event in previous years and frontman Guy Garvey has cited the series as one of the most amazing music concerts of the year.
Garvey says of the band's performance: "Jodrell was a dream come true. All the thrills of space exploration for a band of the Star Wars generation, plus some pretty amazing cold war era hardware."
