Bastille are fast becoming one of the most talked about band on the UK scene. Slowly building a huge fanbase using free mixtapes and remixes, lead singer, Dan Smith and friends finally unveil the video for 2013 single 'Pompeii'.

The talented four-piece have been picked as the first Vevo Lift emerging artists of 2013 and have already sold-out most of their debut UK tour. As part of this, Bastille will will embark on an eight week video promotion, filming live performances and behind-the-scenes footage.

The promo sees Smith alone in what seems to be a post-apocalyptic world. Everyone he comes across have caught some sort of eye changing disease of which Smith is terrified of.

Tired of running, the singer finds himself in the desert only to realise that he has caught the black-eye bug himself. The video is a captivating watch and fits well with the song with lyrics such as: "The walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love."

Smith's vocal talents are there for all to see on this track, truly distinctive, he manages to make any tune catchy. However, 'Pompeii' is catchy enough without the voice of Smith. The rolling drum beat and echoing backing vocals making sure you will come back for more.

Difficult to pigeon-hole, too cool to be mainstream, but getting too big to be anything else, Bastille will surely be one of the band's of 2013.

'Pompeii' is released on Sunday, 24 February with debut album Bad Blood following on March 4 2013.
