Tom Odell has revealed details of his upcoming debut album Long Way Down, which is set to be released in April.

Tom recently took home the BRIT Award for Critics Choice, and so has a lot to live up to with the release of his debut album on 1 April this year.

Speaking about the record, Tom says, "I hope the album feels human and real and that there are some flaws - because the flaws help make it what it is.

"Really, I'd love to live in a time when music felt uncontrived and imperfect and gave people a real sense of elevation. When it's sad I want it to be really sad. When it's happy I want it to feel euphoric...

"I suppose I want the record to express the heightened feelings and emotions we all get in our lives."

Tom is signed to Lily Rose Cooper's record label In The Name Of, and not only won the BRIT award but also was shortlisted on the BBC Sound of 2013 poll and MTV's Brand New for 2013.

Speaking about Tom to NME, Lily said, "I'm not usually a massive fan of singer-songwriter stuff, but when I saw him live his energy onstage reminded me of David Bowie.

"It's not soppy and moany at all, it's energetic and insightful. And he's totally gorgeous as well! Blond hair and blue eyes, and simply just lovely."

The full tracklisting is:

1. Hold Me
2. Another Love
3. Grow Old With Me
4. I Know
5. Sense
6. Can’t Pretend
