Shakira has given birth to a son, named Milan, with boyfriend Gerard Pique, with the family all said to be doing well after the arrival.
The star revealed the birth of son Milan on her official website, announcing that the child was born on Tuesday of this week in the early evening.
"We are pleased to announce the birth of Milan Pique Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Pique, on January 22 at 9.36pm (8.36 GMT), in Barcelona, Spain," said a statement on the star's official website.
The statement also adds that Milan is alsready being primed to follow in his father's footsteps rather than his mother's, continuing: "Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth."
Both Shakira and Milan are said to be in 'excellent health'.

The heavily pregnant star hosted a 'virtual baby shower' online. The singer is promoting the charity, who are encouraging people to give deprived children a healthier start in life through their 'Inspired Gifts' feature, which seeks to raise money for children in the poorest parts of the world.
Fans who contribute will receive a personal thank you message from Shakira and her footballer boyfriend.
"To celebrate the arrival of our first child, we hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations. Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us," say the couple in an official statement.
