After having our hopes raised by a fake lineup poster, the official list of acts for this year's Primavera Sound Festival has been announced - and it's still pretty impressive.

The headline acts include Phoenix and The Postal Service on the Thursday night, Blur and The Jesus Mary Chain on the Friday and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds alongside My Bloody Valentine to close the event on the Saturday.

But the talent on offer doesn't stop with the headliners.

Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Tame Impala, The Knife, Wu-Tang Clan and Solange all also appear on the bill.

The festival, which is held in Barcalona in Spain, will open it gates on Wednesday, May 22, with The Vaccines and Delorean among bands playing on the opening night.

But as good as the lineup might look, it was always going to be a bit of a disappointment after the brief elation caused by the phony lineup a few weeks ago.

The leaked lineup had featured Daft Punk, Frank Ocean and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on a bill that fans quickly suspected of being too good to be true.

It looks like the events organisers have made a valiant effort at living up to the false lineup, but in all honesty they never stood a chance.

We're now waiting to see what the official lineup for Coachella Festival looks like, after that event was also victim of a false lineup that featured The Rolling Stones and David Bowie.

The 13th edition of Primavera Sound Festival will be held in the Parc del Forum, opening on May 22 and lasting until May 26.
