Lady Gaga has taken to Twitter to confirm that she will be making a new album with 86-year-old jazz crooner, Tony Bennett.

However, there is no release date for the jazz record as yet and fans can expect Gaga's fourth studio album ARTPOP to take precedence over the Bennett collaboration.

Gaga posted a picture of herself singing with Bennett and wrote: "And here's me and my handsome date, I simply cannot wait for our album together, he's my darling."

The pair were performing at the White House Staff Ball earlier this week in order to celebrate the inauguration of President Barak Obama.

Meanwhile, Gaga's ARTPOP album is expected to be released in spring 2013, but seems to have hit a snag according to its producer Zedd.

He told MTV: "The problem with her is obviously that I'm busy and I tour a lot, but she's probably a lot busier than I am, so it's hard to find time to work on something together."

"We've been working on it for over a year now. There's still a lot of work left, so we're definitely gonna work on this project for the next month."
