Frightened Rabbit have accused Mumford & Sons of 'shovelling the same old s***' on latest album, Babel.

In an interview with Spin, Frightened Rabbit frontman, Scott Hutchinson took offence to a direct comparison between his band and Mumford & Sons.

Hutchinson politely explained: "Melodically, there are things we have in common with those bands, but I'm not sure we have embraced the entire aesthetic of Mumford & Sons."

"It's a slightly frustrating comparison because I don't hate those bands but I don't aspire to be like them in any way."

As the chat went on, Hutchinson's nose was put further out of joint as the interviewer explained that they preferred Frightened Rabbit to Mumford & Sons.

Desperate to steer clear of any comparisons, Hutchinson continued: "I was trying to be very diplomatic but I f*****g hate that band and don't want to be associated with them. I thought the first record did something that I appreciated, but with the second they were just shovelling the same shit."

"And that's one of the reasons we're trying to separate ourselves, because it's a huge insult to someone who's invested in the band to give them more of the same."

Mumford & Sons will be performing at the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, alongside The Black Keys and Rihanna.

It%u2019s big enough now,%u201D in an interview with Sky Arts. It's over to you Bono...

  • Louis Walsh vs Cheryl Cole: Kicking off with Cole claiming Walsh had only been involved in Girls Aloud to 'collect the cheques', Walsh later hit back suggesting Cheryl should take vocal coaching before attempting her 2012 music comeback. The two have seemingly patched up their difference, but things got nasty - fast - and we'd put money on this one rearing its head again before two long...
