The Strokes have released a new song titled 'One Way Trigger' which is taken from their forthcoming fifth studio album.
The brand new track is available as a free download from the New York band’s website and is another taster of what to expect from their eagerly awaited 2013 album.
The new record was confirmed as being the follow-up to 2011's Angels and guitarist Albert Hammond Jr’s father revealed where the band were at with the record last year.
He said: "Albert says that the stuff they're doing is incredible. They're doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says, 'Dad, it's incredible'."
The Strokes will be releasing their fifth studio album later this year
Fans worrying that The Strokes may travel in a new direction for the album were reassured by Hammond Sr.
He added: "I don't think they'll go in a wildly different direction. Obviously the songs will be different, but I think The Strokes are The Strokes; they always will be The Strokes."
