Rock icon Bon Jovi has revealed that he turned down an offer to be an X Factor judge, saying that he's too busy to take on the role.
The singer also spoke about the difficulties facing people who win talent contests like The X Factor, and says he never would've won had he entered a contest early in his career.
Speaking to The Sun, Bon Jovi said he was offered jobs on talent shows last year but that they weren't for him.
"I was offered all of them last year," he explained. "But it's not for me because I have a job - we're busy.
"It's hard for the talent because they're thrust into a huge spotlight, then they win these things and they're expected to have a record that's on par with the greats.
"I had 23 years to write my first record - I was able to develop a career in bars, I would never have won any of those contests. You see them there and they can hit the high notes and then a year later they're a trivia question.
"It's a big ask of these kids."
Jovi also revealed that he is the least demanding member of his band, saying he travels with just a small bag and has no interest in big hotel rooms or entourages.
When asked how he managed to remain looking so youthful, the singer said he was lucky to have good genes, and that he kept fit by runing five or six miles a day.
"No one recognises me," he said.
"I run like an old man."

This year sees Bon Jovi celebrating their 30th anniversary by embarking on a world tour.
While in the UK the band will headline the Isle Of White Festival.
They will also play Hyde Park on July 5, and have promised there will be no repeat of the sound problems which ruined 2012's events.
"We'll make sure we play as loud as 11!" the frontman stated.
"Hopefully all the authorities know all the words and will sing along instead of carting me off to Hyde Park jail."
