A new remixed version of Cat Power's 'Manhatten' has been unveiled this week, featuring a contribution from rapper Angel Haze. Listen to the track below.
The remix, courtesy of Ryan Hemsworth, is a broken down version of the original tune, using digitalised keyboard sounds and spooky chiming to create a spacious soundscape that would be a home on any chillout compilation.
The track opens with a stylishly nifty verse from Angel Haze, one of the most exciting new prospects in hip hop for 2013, before giving way to Power's smoothly delivered vocals.
Cat Power is due to perform at New York's Terminal 5 tonight (January 29). The singer is yet to confirm rescheduled dates for her UK and European tour. The European dates were scrapped last year, with the singer citing health issues and financial problems as the cause.
Power, real name Chan Marshall, suffers from Angeoedema which is a swelling of the skin.
Rapper Angel Haze has recently had to postpone a string of planned UK dates herself, saying that studio commitments are to blame.
Haze was due to arrive in the UK in February, but has rescheduled the shows and will now begin her tour on May 7 at London's Scala.
