It's not a pairing we would ever have imagined, but it sure makes for a refreshing one. R. Kelly and Bjork have been named as headliners for this year's Pitchfork Festival.

The three-day event will take place in Union Park, Chicago and just to make sure things are even more diverse, the third and final headliner is Belle & Sebastian.

The festival takes place on 19-21 July 2013 and the Pitchfork website promises the full line-up, which will consist of more than 40 artists, will be announced over the coming weeks.

"In addition to its musical offerings, the Pitchfork Music Festival will also feature a wide array of other activities," say Pitchfork in the announcement on their website. "The fest not only supports local businesses and economy with its 50 individual vendors and specialty fairs, but also promotes the Chicago arts community as a whole."

Tickets for the festival are on sale now.

In January, one of America's biggest festivals, Coachella, announced its full 2013 line-up.

Blur, Stone Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the big name headliners while The Postal Service also put a stop to the reunion rumours by confirming that they have reformed to play the event, as well as Primavera. Other acts to play Coachella include Alt-J, Vampire Weekend, Lou Reed, Passion Pit, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the xx, Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Bat For Lashes and New Order.

Jurassic 5, The Lumineers, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Wu-Tang Clan, Four Tet, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals and Janelle Monae are also set to play the festival.
