6 February, 2013: Frightened Rabbit this week release their fourth album, Pedestrian Verse - their first on a major label.

Set to launch the band into the mainstream and see them rival fellow Scottish countrymen Biffy Clyro on this summer's festival scene, the band yesterday (6 February) performed at Manchester's HMV, met fans and signed copies of Pedestrian Verse.

Frightened Rabbit recently spoke to Gigwise about their sadness at the demise of HMV, with frontman Scott Hutchison saying it was sad, but that a change was imminent.

"That's the kind of thing; I could kind of see this coming," Hutchison told Gigwise. "A lot of people thought it was on its knees already anyway, but you should always mourn the loss of somewhere that stocks a wide variety of excellent music.

"For instance, the listening post - at that point in time, listening posts were where I found music in HMV, Virgin at the time as well, so that was really important to discovering new artists."

He continued, "But then, you know, everything moves on. It's just really a time of adapting and I don't know if anyone knows what the outcome will be or if there even is one.

"But we've never really lived or worked in an industry at the time when record sales were even kind of that relevant - I mean, in terms of actually earning money. So - you know, it's a sad thing but everything has to change."
