The 1975 have announced six dates of an upcoming UK tour, which is set to take place in May. Full details below.

The tour follows the success of the band's latest EP, Sex, and their sold-out debut headline tour which they have just begun.

Kicking off on 22 May at Northumbria University in Newcastle, the tour will take in Queens Social Club in Sheffield, Glasgow's Oran Mor, HMV Institute Library in Birmingham, Heaven in London and finishing at Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth on 31 May.

The concert at Heaven in London is set to be the band's biggest headline show to date, and takes place on 29 May.

The 1975 recently unveiled the second track from the upcoming Music For Cars EP, 'Head.Cars.Bending.' The EP is going to be released at the start of March, with an album to follow later this year.

The 1975 expect the new album to be released in May this year

Speaking to Gigwise about the album last year, frontman Matt Healy said, "Lyrically, it's just stories of us - especially the album that we've just finished, it really is the soundtrack to our formative years, as young adults and things like that.

"All of the songs - from the EP to the album - they're just about us knocking about."
