Tulisa is set for a legal showdown with Will.i.am after she was ditched from his 'Scream & Shout' single in favour of Britney Spears.
The 24-year-old singer claims to have written the song with producer and friend of Will’s, Jean Baptiste before the former Black Eyed Pea took the song and recorded his own version with Spears. It was even reported that Tulisa planned to have the tune on her massively disappointing debut album, so it must have been difficult to see 'Scream & Shout' become a worldwide smash.
A source told The Sun: “Tulisa is still fuming with Will for taking the song off her. The fact the song blew up only makes it worse.
“She’s well within her right to claim some of the publishing money. If she proves the words are hers, she could get a huge pay-out.”
Tulisa claims to have written parts of 'Scream & Shout'
One of the lyrics Tulisa is claiming she wrote is: “When you hear this in the club, you’d better turn this s*** up.”
Not one of her best, but the quality of lyrics doesn’t matter as if Tulisa can prove she wrote a percentage of the song, she will have to be listed as a co-writer on the song as well as receive the royalties she is owed from the track’s huge success.
