Despite hopes for a new album and the announcement of a new tour, Beyonce has hinted that she may quit music to bring up her daughter Blue Ivy, saying she can retire 'if she wants'.

The singer recently announced plans for a world tour, The Mrs. Carter Show, following her performance at the 2013 Super Bowl half time.

But speaking to Vogue she said she felt no obligation to continue in the music industry longer than she really wanted to.

"I don't feel like I have to please anyone," she tells the magazine. "I feel free. I feel like I'm an adult. I'm grown. I can do what I want. I can say what I want. I can retire if I want. That's why I've worked hard."

Beyonce's daughter with rapper Jay-Z, Blue Ivy, was born last year and the 'Halo' star recently revealed that her daughter had begun to talk, and even knew the dance to 'Single Ladies'.

"At some point it's very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers and have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do.

"School visits and lemonade stands and all that stuff is very important for me."

She also recently spoke of how important her supportive husband is to her, and how motherhood had been the most fulfilling thing she's ever done.

Beyonce Super Bowl performance was the third most watched TV show ever, but recent attempts to have unflattering pictures from the performance taken offline has sparked an internet backlash.
