Given Chris Brown's history, perhaps we can be excused for thinking he and Adele were arguing at the Grammys this weekend.
When we saw pictures that apparently showed Adele shouting at Brown, most of us thought she was telling him off for not standing for Frank Ocean's award, or perhaps something worse. But apparently the two were in fact snapped while in the middle of saying nice things each other.
"Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!" Adele tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.
And in fact there is a second picture, taken just seconds after the apparent 'argument', where the two look like best pals with their arms around each other.
Brown remained seated while Frank Ocean walked to the stage to collect his award, and Adele can be seen in the background looking disapprovingly at Brown. But it would seem we were all too eager for gossip about Chris Brown, and that we jumped the gun a little.
However, just because Brown wasn't arguing with Adele doesn't mean he didn't attract any controversy at the awards.
He and recently reunited girlfriend Rihanna set tongues wagging when they arrived together and proceeded to behave very couple-y, with suggestions that Rihanna performed wearing a wedding ring.

Chris got ahead of the curve with Grammys mishaps by crashing his car, twice, on the eve of the Grammys.
Adele herself had a somewhat eventful awards ceremony when the same man who tried to kiss Will Smith attempted a stage invasion while Adele collected her award for Best Pop Solo Performance.
